Sustainable Luxury Propels Dubai to New Tourism Heights
Dubai is setting new worldwide norms for sustainable tourism, with an upsurge in visitors from India, Saudi Arabia, and the United Kingdom. The Dubai Sustainable Tourism (DST) Stamp, introduced by the Department of Economy and Tourism (DET), has been instrumental in promoting environmentally friendly practices throughout the city’s hospitality industry.
India remains Dubai’s largest source market, with over two million annual visitors, followed by Saudi Arabia and the UK. The city’s excellent air connectivity, luxurious services, and cultural diversity have made it a popular choice for both leisure and business travellers.
The DST Stamp recognises hotels and resorts that exceed strict sustainability standards, like energy and water efficiency, waste management, and employee training. This program not only reflects Dubai’s dedication to environmental responsibility, but it also appeals to a rising segment of eco-conscious travellers looking for luxury with a purpose.
Emirates and Flydubai have improved accessibility by connecting Dubai to over 150 global destinations, including several cities in India, Saudi Arabia, and the United Kingdom.
Leading hotel brands, such as Jumeirah and Marriott, are implementing renewable energy systems and waste reduction programs, setting the standard for sustainable luxury.
