She won a silver medal in the vault event, adding to her already impressive career. Valentina Georgieva, an 18-year-old Bulgarian gymnast, won the event’s gold medal. Shakhinabonu Yusufova, another Uzbek gymnast, finished third, rounding out the podium.

Chusovitina first made news at the age of 13 when she won the Soviet all-around championship. Her career gained additional momentum when she won the floor exercise title at the 1991 World Championships. She competed for the Unified Team in the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, winning gold in the team event. She competed for Germany at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, winning a silver medal in the vault.

Despite repeatedly announcing her retirement, she has consistently returned to competition, motivated by passion and resilience. In 2021, she competed in her eighth Olympic Games in Tokyo, but failed to qualify for the vault final, resulting in an emotional farewell

Her recent achievement solidifies her legendary position, exhibiting not only exceptional longevity but also an unwavering competitive spirit.
