Nikhat, Jaismine, and Arundhati Lead India’s Record-Breaking Medal Sweep

India had its best-ever result at the World Boxing Cup Finals 2025, winning nine gold medals in a strong display at the Shaheed Vijay Singh Pathik Sports Complex. All 20 Indian boxers finished on the podium, giving the hosts nine gold, six silver, and five bronze medals. The women's team delivered an outstanding performance, winning titles in all major Olympic divisions.

Jaismine Lamboria delivered the evening’s biggest upset, defeating Paris Olympic medallist Wu Shih Yi 4:1 with composed, confident boxing. Nikhat Zareen, a two-time World Champion, added another gold with a flawless 5:0 victory over Guo Yi Xuan. Parveen also defeated Ayaka Taguchi of Japan by a narrow margin of 3:2.

Earlier, Minakshi defeated Asian Champion Farzona Fozilova 5:0, and Preeti replicated the feat against Italy’s Sirine Charrabi. Arundhati Choudhary made a great comeback with a controlled win over Aziza Zokirova, while Nupur won her first title by defeating Oltinoy Sotimboeva.

In the men’s events, Sachin outclassed Munarbek Uulu Seiitbek, and Hitesh came back to defeat Nurbek Mursal 3:2. India’s silver medals came in highly competitive classifications, capping off a historic performance for the hosts.
