PM Modi to Visit Ghana, Trinidad, Argentina, Brazil, Namibia, including the BRICS Summit in Rio
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will embark on a five-nation diplomatic tour to Ghana, Trinidad & Tobago, Argentina, Brazil, and Namibia, aimed at strengthening India’s engagement with the Global South.
The tour involves attending the 17th BRICS Summit in Rio de Janeiro, where leaders will address global governance reforms, peace and security, and climate action. This will be PM Modi’s first bilateral visit to Ghana, with discussions aimed at strengthening collaboration in agriculture, vaccine research, defence, and digital infrastructure.
During his visits to Trinidad and Tobago and Argentina, the Prime Minister plans to boost bilateral relations while also increasing economic and trade connections.
Later, PM Modi will attend the BRICS Summit in Brazil, where he will discuss issues like multilateralism, artificial intelligence, and climate financing, to produce leaders’ declarations and frameworks on crucial issues.
The Prime Minister will also undertake bilateral discussions with Brazilian President Lula on trade, energy, technology, defence, and people-to-people relations. The visit intends to improve India’s ties with partner countries while also supporting sustainable and inclusive development goals, placing India as an active voice for the Global South in global forums during these high-level meetings.
