Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with Mongolian President Khurelsukh Ukhnaa in New Delhi to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the two countries’ diplomatic relations. During the discussion, both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to expanding the India-Mongolia collaboration, which has matured into a strategic alliance over the last decade.

PM Modi welcomed President Ukhnaa and his delegation, stressing that this was the first visit by a Mongolian head of state to India in six years. He emphasised the significance of the occasion, which coincided with the strategic partnership’s 10th anniversary and seven decades of bilateral connections. The two leaders began their meeting by planting a symbolic tree as part of the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign.

PM Modi highlighted the ongoing $1.7 billion oil refinery project, India’s largest line of credit venture abroad, and expressed India’s support for talent development and innovation.

President Ukhnaa thanked India for its support and announced plans to improve trade and connectivity by establishing new transport and logistical lines. He also stated that Mongolia is prepared to introduce charter flights to New Delhi and Amritsar, and enhance partnerships in geology, minerals, and renewable energy.
