Thailand’s Women’s Volleyball Team Secures First Win of VNL 2025

Thailand’s women’s national volleyball team won their first match of the 2025 Volleyball Nations League (VNL) season, defeating France 3-1 (25-14, 19-25, 25-23, 25-13) in Beijing. Thailand’s fourth win in the opening leg earned them three crucial points and a morale boost as they continue their tournament journey.
Thailand entered the match ranked 18th with no points after losing to Poland, Belgium, and Turkey, while France was 13th with three points. Thailand narrowly defeated France 3-2 in their last encounter in 2024, demonstrating their ability to counter taller, physically imposing opponents. France’s average height is 184 cm, compared to Thailand’s 178 cm, while the Thai squad’s average age of 22.9 years highlights their relative youth.
Thailand began the match with an impressive performance in the opening set, winning 25-14 with dynamic offence and disciplined defence. France levelled the match in the second set, winning 25-19 with clever changes. Thailand won the third set 25-23 owing to their calm approach and fewer mistakes. The momentum carried them into the fourth set, where strong blocks and crisp serves resulted in a commanding 25-13 win.
Thailand’s victory provides a big boost ahead of subsequent matches as they look to strengthen their position in the 2025 VNL.
