Malaysia has emerged as a regional leader in the Fourth Industrial Revolution (IR4.0) through its MyDIGITAL Corporation, which is driving the nation’s digital transformation agenda. The institution is responsible for implementing the National Digital Economy Blueprint and the National Fourth Industrial Revolution Policy, which aim to accelerate advancements in new technology.

Adrian Marcellus, CEO of MyDIGITAL Corporation, stated that the Malaysia Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution (MYCentre4IR) is essential to advance digitalisation and energy transition. The centre encourages thought leadership, capacity building, and policy development to realise national digital objectives.

Malaysia is the first ASEAN country to join the World Economic Forum’s Fourth Industrial Revolution network. One of its primary programs is the Transitioning Industrial Cluster (TIC), which aims to help industry embrace cleaner technology and cut carbon emissions. The pilot project in Sarawak combines digital technologies with renewable energy solutions and will be showcased at the World Economic Forum in Davos in 2026.

MYCentre4IR has also launched ESG Innovation Challenges to help start-ups build sustainable solutions. The centre intends to expand its collaboration with the ASEAN AI Safety Network to enable responsible AI governance throughout the region. These measures put Malaysia at the forefront of ASEAN’s digital and industrial transformation efforts.
