The talks focused on enhancing trade flows, addressing market access issues, and expanding collaboration in key sectors such as technology, manufacturing, and supply chains.

Both sides emphasised the importance of deepening economic engagement amid evolving global trade dynamics. India and South Korea have maintained a robust trade partnership, and the meeting aimed to further build on the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) framework.

During the interaction, Shri Goyal highlighted India’s commitment to creating a more investor-friendly environment and boosting manufacturing under initiatives such as ‘Make in India’. The discussions also explored ways to facilitate smoother movement of goods and services, reduce trade barriers, and encourage greater private-sector participation.

South Korea expressed interest in expanding investments in India, particularly in electronics, automobiles, and semiconductor sectors. Both countries agreed to continue dialogue at multiple levels to resolve outstanding issues and unlock new opportunities for collaboration.

The meeting reflects India’s broader strategy of strengthening ties with key Asian economies to enhance trade resilience and diversify supply chains. The two sides reaffirmed their commitment to fostering a mutually beneficial partnership in the years ahead.
