His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has unveiled a significant national program aimed at strengthening the UAE’s status as a global hub for entrepreneurship and innovation. Sheikh Mohammed announced the plan on his official social media platforms, emphasising that the initiative will provide new economic opportunities and inspire young Emiratis to take advantage of the country’s healthy and quickly rising economy. The program will be supervised by the Ministry of Economy and Tourism, in partnership with the UAE Government Media Office and the UAE Entrepreneurship Council.
The project, named The Emirates: The Startup Capital of the World, will provide a comprehensive training program for 10,000 Emiratis. More than 50 public and commercial sector partners will help give mentorship, shared workspaces, and business networking opportunities.
Sheikh Mohammed stated that SMEs already account for more than 63% of the UAE’s non-oil GDP, highlighting the significance of fostering entrepreneurship.
