PM Modi to Introduce Historic Digital Library Showcasing Traditional Healing Systems
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the world’s first Digital Traditional Medicine Library during the WHO Global Summit on Traditional Medicine. The platform intends to digitise centuries of traditional health knowledge and make it available worldwide. It would combine thorough material on Ayurveda, Siddha, Unani, Yoga, Naturopathy, herbal medicines, and other indigenous therapies, providing a single digital area for global users.
The library aims to assist researchers, policymakers, and healthcare professionals in studying and analysing conventional systems using modern scientific tools. According to Ayush Secretary Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, the idea sprang from the Prime Minister’s speech at the BRICS Summit in July, when he called for a global digital repository to preserve and promote traditional medical wisdom.
Officials believe the inauguration puts India at the forefront of global traditional medicine efforts by integrating ancient knowledge with digital innovation. The project is also planned to encourage international collaboration and improve evidence-based research in traditional healthcare.
The Digital Traditional Medicine Library is intended to transform how traditional wisdom is preserved and shared, providing a solid scientific base while protecting the cultural heritage. It strives to connect international institutions and promote long-term health solutions based on tried-and-true approaches.
