ISRO is ready to launch BlueBird-6, the heaviest US commercial satellite, on December 15. The 6.5-tonne communication satellite, built by AST SpaceMobile, arrived in India on October 19 and is preparing to launch from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre on the LVM3 rocket. ISRO Chairman Dr. V. Narayanan said that the launch vehicle is being assembled, and the Prime Minister will announce the final date. The mission follows the successful NISAR launch earlier this year, and it represents another milestone in India-US space collaboration.

Narayanan further praised the Gaganyaan Mission’s steady progress, stating that about 90% of subsystem development is complete. Integrated tests and software validations are underway, and three uncrewed flights will precede the crewed mission to ensure complete safety.

ISRO leaders spoke at a briefing ahead of ESTIC 2025, which will take place at Bharat Mandapam from November 3 to 5. The event will bring together several scientific and technology departments to demonstrate inventions and strengthen relationships. VSSC Director Dr. A. Rajarajan discussed preliminary development on a Lunar Module Launch Vehicle, which aims to enable a human lunar landing by 2040. To develop manufacturing, the vehicle will need a 75,000-kg LEO capability and major industry involvement.
