PM Modi’s Rozgar Mela Initiative Hits Milestone with 10 Lakh Government Appointments
During the 16th Rozgar Mela, which took place in 47 different sites around the country, Prime Minister Narendra Modi distributed over 51,000 appointment letters to new recruits. The Prime Minister addressed the appointees via video conference, congratulating them and emphasising that the Rozgar Mela had brought permanent government jobs to lakhs of youth.
The government has allocated over one lakh crore rupees to this project, which aims to create roughly 3.5 crore employment opportunities. The candidates will work in various ministries and departments, including railways, home affairs, revenue, postal services, higher education, and labour and employment.
Union Minister Jitendra Singh stated that each new hire will have access to the Karmayogi Portal for continual learning. Rozgar Melas are also being held locally in several states, inspired by the central idea.
In Chennai, Minister Dr L Murugan stated that 154 of the 250 new recruits will join the Railways. Union Ministers, including Nitin Gadkari, Piyush Goyal, Kiren Rijiju, Krishan Pal Gurjar, and Murlidhar Mohol, distributed appointment letters across the country. Rozgar Melas, which launched in October 2022, have now provided over ten lakh appointments with the Central Government.
