Dubai has emerged as one of the world’s top three most visited cities in the first half of 2025, with 9.88 million overnight international visitors between January and June. According to data from Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism, this is a 6% increase over the same period in 2024, topping last year’s total of 18.72 million visitors. Dubai International Airport handled 46 million passengers during the same period, maintaining its status as the world’s busiest international hub.

Strong marketing efforts starring global icons like Shah Rukh Khan, Virat and Anushka Kohli, and Millie Bobby Brown, which appeal to audiences on all continents, are driving the city’s rise. Expanding hospitality partnerships and premium new properties have increased average occupancy to 80.6%, while important indicators like average daily rate and revenue per available room have seen steady growth.

Dubai’s appeal lies in its combination of modern structures like the Burj Khalifa and the Museum of the Future with historical attractions like Al Fahidi Fort and the Dubai Museum. Dubai, which was named the first Certified Autism Destination in the Eastern Hemisphere and the safest city for solo female travellers, provides a secure, accessible, and diverse experience, reinforcing its status as a top global destination.
