He reaffirmed the country's commitment to reducing emissions intensity by 45% and reaching 50% non-fossil fuel power capacity by 2030. Speaking to delegations from over ten countries, he emphasised that India's growth plan is based on a balance of economic progress and ecological responsibility. The minister emphasised new policy measures like the Environment Audit Rules 2025, which establish a statutory framework for environmental auditing. These guidelines establish a two-tier audit system and a dedicated oversight agency. He also mentioned improvements to the Green Credit Programme, which was first launched in 2023 and is now better suited to attracting commercial participation, mobilising finance, and promoting environmental restoration. In addition, recent modifications to the Forest Rules 2023 seek to streamline approvals for essential mineral extraction under the National Critical Mineral Mission. According to Yadav, sustainability must be accepted as a lifestyle rather than as a short-term aim. He praised India's progress in developing renewable energy, increasing forest cover, and promoting Mission LiFE and circular economy practices.
