Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has congratulated Shri Samrat Choudhary after he took oath as the Chief Minister of Bihar. Choudhary was sworn in on April 15, 2026, marking a significant political transition in the state. Shri Samrat Choudhary, who previously served as Deputy Chief Minister, became the 24th Chief Minister and the first leader from the Bharatiya Janata Party to hold the post in Bihar.

In his message, the Prime Minister expressed confidence that the new leadership would further accelerate development initiatives and governance reforms in the state. The leadership change follows a political shift after the previous administration stepped down, paving the way for Shri Choudhary to lead the government.

Shri Choudhary has been an influential figure in Bihar politics, having held key portfolios including finance and home during his tenure as Deputy Chief Minister. His elevation is seen as a move aimed at strengthening governance and ensuring continuity in development-focused policies.

The new Chief Minister is expected to focus on infrastructure growth, employment generation, and law and order improvements. His leadership also reflects the growing prominence of the BJP in the state’s political landscape, signalling a new phase in Bihar’s governance trajectory.
