Kyrgyzstan’s Greco-Roman wrestler Akzhol Makhmudov secured his fourth gold medal at the Asian Wrestling Championships 2026, reinforcing his dominance in the 77kg category. Competing on home soil in Bishkek, Makhmudov delivered a determined performance to defeat Iran’s Ali Oskou in a closely contested final. 

The final ended with a 3-3 scoreline, with Makhmudov winning on criteria after successfully defending his lead in the closing stages. The victory marked his fourth Asian title and fifth overall medal at the continental championships.
