India Unveils Homegrown Defence Technologies at Riyadh Defence Expo 2026

Raksha Rajya Mantri Shri Sanjay Seth led a high-level Indian delegation to the World Defence Show (WDS) 2026, held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on February 8–9. He joined international dignitaries at the opening ceremony and inaugurated the first-ever India Pavilion at the event, showcasing India’s defence manufacturing capabilities through Defence Public Sector Undertakings (DPSUs) and private companies. The RRM also visited exhibition areas of Saudi Arabian Military Industries (SAMI) and the Saudi Ministry of Defence to review their latest indigenous technological developments.

During the visit, Shri Sanjay Seth held discussions with Dr Khaled bin Hussein Al-Biyari, Assistant Minister of Defence for Executive Affairs, to strengthen defence cooperation between the two countries. He also met Dr Faleh bin Abdullah Al-Sulaiman, Governor of the General Authority for Defence Development (GADD), highlighting India’s emergence as a global defence export hub and inviting Saudi officials to visit Indian R&D facilities for potential co-development of technologies.

The RRM further met Mr Ahmed bin Abdulaziz Al-Ohali, Governor of the General Authority of Military Industries (GAMI), to explore strategic cooperation and supply chain partnerships. Addressing defence companies at the Indian Embassy, he stressed collaboration under the “Make in India, Make for the World” vision.
