Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal on Monday held a breakfast meeting at the National Stock Exchange with its Managing Director and CEO Ashish Chauhan to discuss the overall impact and opportunities emerging from the Union Budget 2026.

The breakout session was attended by investors and representatives from mutual funds and the asset management industry. In a post on social media platform X, Goyal said he was encouraged by the optimism expressed by market participants and their enthusiasm about the growth prospects outlined in the Budget.

Addressing the gathering, the Minister said that over the past 12 years, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government has focused on building a fiscally prudent, future-oriented, and long-term growth framework for India. He noted that the Budget serves as a blueprint to deepen India’s integration into global value chains, promote the adoption of modern technologies, and simultaneously deliver benefits to domestic consumers.

Describing India as being in a “sweet spot”, the Minister said the Budget is aimed at building a “Future Ready Bharat”. He added that it spans traditional and emerging sectors, gives strong impetus to services with a major focus on technology, and addresses key growth drivers to help achieve the goal of a Viksit Bharat by 2047.
