India created history in T20 cricket as Ishan Kishan smashed a sensational century to power the team to a massive 271 for 5 against New Zealand in the fifth and final T20I at Thiruvananthapuram. Kishan struck 103 off just 43 balls, hammering 10 sixes and six fours, registering his maiden T20I hundred in a breathtaking display of power hitting.

Kishan and skipper Suryakumar Yadav added 137 runs for the third wicket in just over 10 overs, completely dominating the Kiwi bowling attack. Suryakumar contributed 63 off 30 balls, also reaching the milestone of 3,000 T20I runs during his knock. Kishan brought up his century in 42 balls, with his second fifty coming off a mere 14 deliveries.

India also broke the world record for most sixes in a bilateral T20I series, smashing 69 sixes across five matches, surpassing England’s previous record of 64. In the match, India hit 23 sixes, equalling the joint-most conceded by a Test-playing nation in T20Is.
