India expands global trade outreach through talks with South Korea and Austria

Union Commerce and Industry Minister Shri Piyush Goyal strengthened India’s global economic engagement through high-level meetings with leaders from South Korea and Austria. In a virtual interaction with South Korea’s Trade Minister Yeo Han-koo, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing bilateral trade, investment flows, and technological collaboration. The discussions highlighted opportunities for deeper integration in emerging sectors and building resilient supply chains. 

On the European front, Goyal held in-person talks with Austrian Chancellor Christian Stocker, co-chairing the India-Austria Business Forum. The engagement focused on leveraging India’s skilled workforce alongside Austria’s technological expertise to boost mutual economic growth. A key outcome of the meeting was the signing of a fast-track mechanism aimed at resolving business issues and improving the ease of doing business between the two countries. 

The discussions also explored collaboration in innovation, renewable energy, artificial intelligence, and semiconductors, reflecting a forward-looking partnership. Austrian leaders acknowledged India’s position as one of the fastest-growing major economies and a key investment destination.

These diplomatic efforts underline India’s strategy of strengthening economic partnerships across Asia and Europe, diversifying trade relations, and fostering technology-driven growth through international cooperation.
