Government Unveils National HPV Immunisation Plan for Teen Girls

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a nationwide Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination campaign for 14-year-old girls in Ajmer, Rajasthan, marking a major step toward strengthening preventive healthcare for women. The initiative began with the administration of the HPV vaccine to five girls. The Prime Minister also inaugurated, dedicated, and laid the foundation stone of development projects worth over ₹16,000 crore, and distributed appointment letters to more than 21,000 newly selected youths across Rajasthan government departments.

Addressing the gathering, he said the BJP government has consistently prioritised resolving even the smallest concerns of women. He described the HPV vaccination drive as a significant step toward women’s empowerment, noting that women are the backbone of every household. Since 2014, he added, several initiatives have been launched to enhance women’s welfare and dignity, and the government works with sensitivity, not a sense of power.

Taking a swipe at Congress over its protest during the AI Impact Summit in New Delhi, the Prime Minister said the nation felt proud of hosting the event, while the opposition attempted to defame the country before international guests. He also lauded the Indian Armed Forces for their achievements.
