PM to Unveil Seva Teerth Today, Expands Central Vista with Kartavya Bhavan 1 & 2
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will unveil the name of the building complex Seva Teerth on February 13, 2026, at around 1:30 PM, followed by its formal inauguration along with Kartavya Bhavan–1 & 2 at approximately 6 PM. The Prime Minister will also address a public programme at Seva Teerth on the same day.
The inauguration marks a significant milestone in India’s administrative governance framework and reflects the government’s commitment to creating a modern, efficient, accessible, and citizen-centric governance ecosystem. For decades, several key government offices and ministries operated from fragmented and ageing infrastructure spread across multiple locations in the Central Vista area. This resulted in operational inefficiencies, coordination challenges, rising maintenance costs, and sub-optimal working environments.
The new building complexes aim to address these challenges by consolidating critical administrative functions within integrated, future-ready facilities. Seva Teerth will house the Prime Minister’s Office, the National Security Council Secretariat, and the Cabinet Secretariat, all of which were previously located at different sites. Kartavya Bhavan–1 & 2 will accommodate major ministries, including Finance, Defence, Health, Education, Law, Culture, Agriculture, and Information & Broadcasting, among others.
Both complexes feature digitally integrated offices, structured public interface zones, and centralized reception facilities, promoting seamless governance, improved collaboration, and enhanced citizen engagement. Designed as per 4-Star GRIHA standards, they also incorporate sustainability measures such as renewable energy systems, water conservation, waste management, and advanced safety and security infrastructure.
