India–UAE Tech Corridor Boost as IIT-Madras Opens AI Centre
The IIT Madras Global Research Foundation will establish its first Applied Artificial Intelligence Innovation Centre at Dubai CommerCity, marking a significant step in advancing applied AI innovation and technology-led economic growth. The Centre aims to position Dubai as a regional and global launchpad for scalable AI solutions.
In its initial phase, the Centre will host six applied AI startups with a combined valuation of approximately US$118 million and projected revenues of US$281 million over the next five years. Facilitated by MCA Gulf, a strategic partner of IITM Global in Dubai, the initiative is designed as a long-term platform to develop, deploy, and scale AI-driven solutions focused on sustainable innovation and value creation.
The MoU was signed on the sidelines of WORLDEF Dubai 2026, inaugurated by His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The agreement strengthens the India–UAE technology corridor under CEPA and aligns with the India AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi.
Led by IITM Global, the Centre will translate advanced AI research into market-ready applications, foster intellectual property creation, enable startup market access across the GCC, and generate high-skill jobs across sectors, including smart cities, energy, logistics, and construction, further reinforcing Dubai’s role as a hub for digital trade and advanced technologies.
