Dholera Expressway inauguration strengthens India’s semiconductor ambitions
Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Dholera Expressway, marking a significant milestone in India’s infrastructure development and semiconductor ambitions. The expressway is expected to enhance connectivity to the Dholera Special Investment Region (SIR), a key hub under India’s semiconductor mission.
The project aims to facilitate faster movement of goods and people, improving logistics efficiency and attracting global investments in high-tech manufacturing. Dholera has been identified as a strategic location for semiconductor fabrication units and advanced technology industries.
The expressway will play a critical role in supporting the development of industrial ecosystems, including electronics manufacturing and data infrastructure. Improved connectivity is expected to reduce transit time and logistics costs, making the region more competitive globally.
The inauguration aligns with the government’s broader vision of positioning India as a global semiconductor hub. By integrating infrastructure development with industrial policy, the initiative seeks to strengthen supply chains and reduce dependence on imports.
The project is also expected to generate employment and accelerate regional economic growth, reinforcing India’s push towards becoming a manufacturing powerhouse.
