Union Minister Scindia Highlights India’s Digital and Technological Prowess

Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia stated that India is emerging as a worldwide leader in communications, technology, and AI. Addressing reporters at the Kautilya Economic Forum in New Delhi, he stated that the country now has 944 million broadband users and the world’s second-largest mobile subscriber base, reflecting its leadership in the digital era.
Scindia noted that the next India Mobile Congress (IMC), which will take place from October 8 to 11 in New Delhi, has evolved from a national event to a worldwide platform. The event is expected to attract representatives from 150 nations, about 7,000 delegates, and 1,500 exhibitors. It will highlight cutting-edge advancements in 4G and 5G technology, artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and other upcoming digital solutions.
The minister emphasised the government’s commitment to improving telecom and digital infrastructure through programs like the AI Mission and Semicon Mission. These programs, worth Rs 76,000 crore, aim to establish a robust semiconductor ecosystem in India.
India has also emerged as the world’s second-largest maker of mobile phones. Domestic enterprises like Tejas Networks, VVDN, and Dixon, and international tech giants, contribute to a vibrant innovation ecosystem.
