Purnea Gets Major Boost with Airport, Rail, Power Projects Worth ₹40,000 Cr

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for about ₹40,000 crore development projects in Purnea, Bihar. Addressing the gathering, he praised Purnea’s cultural and spiritual heritage, saying the region occupies a special place in Indian history.
PM Modi announced that the projects will include new rail lines, modern trains, airports, electricity, and water facilities, transforming Seemanchal’s connectivity and infrastructure. He flagged off the Jogbani-Danapur Vande Bharat Express, inaugurated the new Araria-Galgalia rail line, and announced several Amrit Bharat trains. The Prime Minister also launched Purnea Airport’s new terminal building, which was built in record time.
The foundation stone was set for Bihar’s largest private-sector thermal power project worth ₹25,000 crore in Pirpainti, as well as the first phase of the Kosi-Mechi intra-state river link project to improve irrigation and flood control. PM Modi also established the National Makhana Board to help farmers and increase exports.
Highlighting government efforts, he stated that over 40,000 recipients had obtained permanent homes. Additionally, PM Modi also promised a nationwide GST decrease on basic commodities beginning September 22, coinciding with Navratri, to help households save money during the festive season.
