Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled a series of youth-centric initiatives worth over Rs 62,000 crore at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi, boosting education, skill development, and entrepreneurship. The event also featured the fourth edition of the National Skill Convocation, which felicitated 46 All India Toppers from Industrial Training Institutes.

A major highlight was the launch of PM-SETU (Pradhan Mantri Skilling and Employability Transformation via Upgraded ITIs), a centrally funded project with a Rs 60,000 crore investment. The project will upgrade 1,000 Government ITIs using a hub-and-spoke approach, connecting 200 hub ITIs and 800 spoke ITIs. The initiative, which is supported by the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank, will make ITIs into government-owned but industry-managed institutions that focus on outcome-based training.

The Prime Minister also inaugurated 1,200 vocational skill labs at Navodaya Vidyalayas and Eklavya Model Residential Schools across the country. These labs will offer hands-on training in areas like IT, logistics, agriculture, electronics, and tourism.

Bihar received special attention, with the launch of projects like the modified Mukhyamantri Nishchay Svyam Sahayata Bhatta Yojana and a redesigned Student Credit Card Scheme.

Together, these projects are expected to empower millions of young people and boost India’s future workforce.
