Kho Kho’s Global Expansion Gains Momentum with Singapore Event

Kho Kho, one of India’s oldest indigenous sports, reached a significant milestone with its debut in Singapore. The Asian Kho Kho Federation and the Kho Kho Association of Singapore hosted the event at Jurong West Secondary School to promote the sport in the country. The day featured training sessions, theory presentations, and exhibition matches aimed at promoting Kho Kho around Singapore.
Officials from the Kho Kho Association of Malaysia conducted a clinic for 180 children from different parts of Singapore. This was followed by hands-on training in Kho Kho’s rules, methods, and essential abilities.
An exhibition match between Singapore and Malaysia showcased the sport’s growing popularity in Southeast Asia. Malaysia’s seasoned national team met Singapore’s newly formed team, providing a competitive display and drawing interest in the local community. Leaders from the Asian Kho Kho Federation attended the event, which marked the sport’s formal debut in Singapore.
Sudhanshu Mittal, President of the International Kho Kho Federation, described the day as historic for the sport’s growth in Asia. The event corresponds with the Federation’s mission of promoting Kho Kho globally and increasing grassroots engagement, laying the groundwork for future development programs in Asia and beyond.
