Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has announced that Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar will become India’s Electric Vehicle (EV) capital. During Marathwada Mukti Sangram Din at Siddharth Garden, he emphasised the region’s growing importance as an industrial hub and preferred investment destination.

Fadnavis stated that Hyundai’s investment is a major boost for the area and shows that industries have faith in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. He said the city, together with Jalna and the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor, is quickly emerging as Maharashtra’s next industrial magnet.

The Chief Minister hoisted the national flag and paid tribute to freedom warriors who gave their lives during the struggle against Nizam rule, which resulted in Marathwada’s unification with India on September 17, 1948.

He also announced that the long-awaited Latur coach manufacturing will open soon, creating approximately 14,000 jobs. In addition, a new railway line connecting Beed and Ahilyanagar will be inaugurated, enhancing regional connectivity.

Fadnavis reaffirmed the government’s commitment to changing Marathwada from a drought-prone to a water-sufficient region, highlighting ongoing efforts to bring water from the Krishna and Ulhas river valleys for agriculture and development.
